Turns out Floodwatch (former members of Turtlebone) will be releasing their debut CD this Saturday up in Portsmouth at a place I've not heard of. Below are the details:
FLOODWATCH cd release and art show A NIGHT AT THE PEARL will be held at The Pearl APRIL 11th located in Portsmouth, NH. The Pearl was built in 1868 and is the only historic African-American church structure in the state of New Hampshire. Originally built as a Freewill Baptist Church, it was sold to the People's Baptist Church in 1915 and served the seacoast African-American community until the 1980's. During that period, it was the center of Black society in Portsmouth. It was here that Martin Luther King, Jr. preached in 1952, while still a divinity student at Boston University.
Thistle Management invites you to attend the release of FLOODWATCHs long awaited self-titled album. The night will consist of live performances by FLOODWATCH and Dan Blakeslee both are relevant and unique musicians in the NH local music scene. The night will also feature artwork by some of our exceptional local artist from the NH and MA area. We are hoping you’ll come show your support for the local music and art scene.
